WEEF Funds Ion Chromatography System for CEE
February 21, 2016
ENVE 275, CIVE 375: The purchase of a new Ion Chromatography (IC) system, which WEEF helped fund, has greatly enhanced the lab experience for Civil & Environmental Engineering students. This fully automated system is able to separate and quantify ionic compounds and other water pollutants. The system features an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface, which makes it ideal for lab demonstrations.
The IC provides accurate and reliable results for assessing water quality and treatment technologies. The system is quite versatile and has been utilized for several 4th year design projects including “Electrocoagulation for Sulfate Removal” from water. In the future, the system could also be used for hot topics like bromate, arsenic, hex chrome, and perchlorate.
Thank-you for supporting the CEE programs!
